this is going to be long.Disclaimer: I am not a john deere employee, but a loyal john deere customer. If it's made by John deere, it works.First off, I don't know what "lawn guy" above me is talking about, I had great results from the first time I used it. Pictures attached are from first mow with striping kit. Now, this is what I did to get my great results. You need to understand what your doing. If you google diy striping kit your going to see a bunch of people putting sand in a pipe being dragged by their mower, the reason, WEIGHT. With this kit your basically buying a broom for your mower deck, brooms don't have weight. So if you look at the pictures attached you can see that I am using my decks pressure to push the broom down. What I did, I know I cut at 3.75" so, on my driveway I sent the broom to 4" (highest setting on d130) knowing when I drop the deck height I will be applying pressure on broom attachment. If you like to cut at 4" you can use a jack on trailer hitch to raise mower 1/4 more to get your height and once Jack is removed you'll have the pressure I had.All in all I will buy again, quality material, I do have a decent amount of concrete due to being on a corner and 2 driveways but I can see this lasting me 2 season, in which I will buy again.
